Here are some of our current favorite web sites. 
  • Knitten Buds - Jeanette and Lyndee, fondly known as the "Knitten Buds," are our local source for wonderful 2/24 yarn that's great for making double jacquard afghans.  It also makes great sweaters, pants and skirts!  Jeanette and Lyndee have designed some fantastic double jacquard afghan patterns for the Passap done in DAK and CUT formats.  Some of their patterns are also designed for the Brother in DAK format.   The Knitten Buds have just started carrying Confetti sock yarn - a yarn that makes it's own design in the sock without floats. Confetti is space-dyed at just the right pitch for socks to make an interesting fairisle design.   Please visit their website and take a look around.  They have some adorable free patterns on their website as well. 

  • Knitters Edge - The ultimate knitting machine resource. Check out the Gold Site subscription.  It is an online library & resource center. You will find patterns for a variety of projects, how-to articles with detailed, step-by-step photos & other resource information. This is a must have for any machine knitter.

  • Common Threads - Fiber arts store and learning center (Encinitas, CA)

  • Distinctive Knits - Scott Renno, Michael Becker:  instructors, machines, supplies, information on DesignaKnit.

  • Jill Stern - For the past 17 years, Jill has concentrated her interests in the areas of machine knitting and designing.  She has also authored many books on the subject.  Currently she is designing custom knitwear for private clients and combining sewing with knitting for a whole new design line.

    Ricki Mundstock's Magic Cables - "Magic Cables" is a simple, fast technique for knitting mock cables. The patterns are knit on any standard, bulky or mid-gauge knitting machine using a variety of tuck stitch patterns that are specifically designed by Ricki Mundstock. You'll love the texture created by the tuck stitches combined with cables.

  • Knit it Now - Knit it Now (formerly BT Yarns) offers extensive on-line tutorials, live webinars, dynamic patterns (custom generated to your gauge) and quality coned yarns from Tamm, Silk City Fibers, Yeoman and Jaggerspun.   • Knitcraft - DesignaKnit (DAK):  Knitting design software, cables (for knitting machine to computer to upload and download knitting motifs and shapes for interactive knitting), knitting machines and more.

  • Knitting Fever (KFI) - This is one of the United States’ largest importers and distributors of quality yarns from around the world. Including (but not limited to) Debbie Bliss, Gedifra, Noro, and Sirdar - KFI supplies yarn shops, catalogs, and online stores across the nation with many of the fine yarns we enjoy knitting with. Check out their site for updates on their current lines of yarn and the store nearest you.

  • Euro Yarns- A subsidiary of Knitting Fever (KFI) - one of the United States’ largest importers and distributors of quality yarns from around the world.   • Knitwords - Knitting magazine full of elegant knitwear, in-depth technique instructions.

  • Machine Knitters Source - Machine Knitters Source Magazine. MKS is the top selling magazine in North America devoted exclusively to the inspiring and creative hobby of machine knitting, specializing in knitting machine patterns, technical articles and related features.

  • Knit 'N Style Magazine Online - Hand knitting magazine with many beautiful patterns.  Many if the projects also have directions for machine knitting.

  • Angelika's Machine & Hand Knitting - Angelika's Machine & Hand Knitting is dedicated to machine & hand knitting at all levels. A great resource for prospective machine knitters with reports on knitting machines, techniques, common  learning problems, business and club listings and a friendly contact.  For hand  knitting Angelika carries a full supply of many weights and blends of  yarns, books & hand knitting tools.

  • Anne Richardson Collection - Women's sweaters, jackets and dresses for day and evening wear. Men's sweaters. Accessories. Costumes for movies. Special occassion. Home furnishings. Pattern instructions.

  • Sandee's Kwik Knit - Sandee has written many books; they are written with the beginner in mind but the advanced knitter will also find the garments fun and easy to knit.  The books can be used on any basic standard or bulky knitting machine using many different types of yarn.  With sizes ranging from newborn to women's 54 and men's size 50, this will allow you to knit something special for anyone!  You will find cardigans, coats, hats & scarves, pants, skirts, socks, sweatshirt inserts, tank tops, tote bags, tunics, Christmas socks, baby & children garments, afghans, cut 'n sew, drop shoulder sweaters, set-in sleeve sweaters, bulky garments, gauge hints, techniques, men & boys sweaters, and vests.

  • The Knitting Mills - April Mills is an accomplished knitter and has written many books and patterns.  She has hard-to-find items such buttons and clasps, braids and trims and much more!

  • Tootsie P Yarn & Fiber -- Incredible hand and machine knitting yarns! Must see to believe!!

  • Trendsetter Yarns -- Fabulous yarns for machine and handknitting.

  • Unique Knitting Bags - The Ewe-HaulT knitting bag will provide space for all your knitting supplies!

  • Website Elizabeth's Fiber & Yarn Store - This website helps in Estimating Knitting Gauge Using WPI. WRAPS PER INCH or by Yarn Size

  • Knitting Any Way (and Spinning too!) - has free machine knitting patterns including headband, dishcloth, moebius, pixie, hat and more; free charts; index of machine knitting tips.  Visit the Sock Spot for sock sizes, patterns, tips and links.

  • Hand-crafted Jewelry - Made on the Knitting machine.

  • Fluffy Knitter Deb - This link is for hand knitting socks starting at the toe.  Very ingenious.  I thought that maybe our machine knitters might like to see something different.
