Philanthropy ProjectJo Frabetti came up with an idea for a philanthropic project for the Guild. She got the idea from art that she had seen by Matt W. Moore. See photo below!
Jo's project involves knitting triangles and then sewing them to create a "burst" picture. The white and black triangles you see pictured would need to remain black & white in order to give the piece perspective, but the other triangles could be whatever the knitter wants, in any texture as well! Jo created the burst on the paper and numbered the triangles (1 thru 50ish). She then cut up the paper and handed out the triangles as "patterns" to whoever would like to volunteer to make one. She offered to knit the black and white triangles. She will keep track of who gets what triangle on her laptop. Once everyone is finished knitting, the triangles will get "quilted" or sewn together using the numbers assigned to each triangle (1 thru 50ish) as a guide. Then the "burst" will be attached to the frame to make a "knitted picture". It should be very dramatic, and what great publicity for the Guild! The picture will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to charity. Matt Moore said he would help with that, but Jo has also been in touch with people at the Children's Hospital.
