Machine Knitters’ Guild of San Diego Member’s Rewards Program
There are 3 distinct segments of the program.
1) MERCHANT DISCOUNTS: A substantial discount program at local yarn shops negotiated especially for the Guild.
When you join the Guild you will be issued an ID badge to be worn at all Guild functions. The back of your badge has the participating yarn shops listed in a special format. Each shop has agreed to give you a one time discount on your entire purchase of 20-25%! This discount is good for the entire current Guild fiscal year (July '09-June '10) and you decide when to use it. You're free to pop around to each store whenever you wish and get a whopping savings on beautiful yarn and accessories! Many of the stores have given you the discount on the entire store! There are 13 stores participating, go out and start your shopping!
There are shops from one end of the county to the other; from San Marcos to Alpine to Chula Vista and everywhere in-between. Get out of your neighborhood comfort zone and discover the fine yarn retailers in the county. They are all trying to make it in this economy and they need your support. They are willing to offer you a discount if you'll just come and buy! So carpool with some of your girlfriends and get discovering and shopping!
2) GUILD GIFTS, Part One: A simple door prize at each meeting when you show up wearing your Guild name badge
Wouldn't you agree it's a friendlier environment when we all know each other's name? To help facilitate that, and reward you for wearing your new Guild ID badge at each meeting, there will be an area on your badge for each month of the fiscal year. For every meeting where you show up wearing your name badge I will void that month's spot. Then your badge, along with everyone else's, will go into a hat and I'll pull one out. That member will win a $20 gift card from a local chain store such as Barnes & Noble; Bed, Bath & Beyond; Target; Home Depot and such. Simple and fun! Just a tiny way of saying thanks for participating.
3) GUILD GIFTS, Part Two: A chance to win either your annual dues or a seminar of your choice when you attend ALL monthly meetings.
Once a quarter, if you've attended all three previous months (your badge will have the months voided by my special stamp), I'll do the same 'badge in the hat' trick and you can win your choice of either your next year's dues, or a seminar of your choice, so long as it's already been published in the newsletter and on our calendar.
So that's Member Rewards in a nutshell, exciting isn’t it? The Guild needs you. In order for us to continue on with our great seminars and learning opportunities, and to keep this great medium alive and healthy we need membership and participation.
Tell your hand knitting buddies about our new Member Rewards program, get them to join us! As soon as they join they get the Merchant Discounts portion. If they attend a few meetings to see what they're missing by not being machine knitters, they also qualify for the Guild Gifts, Part One and could win a simple door prize. Once they see what machine knitting is all about, you can help them buy a machine and attend regularly! Then they'll also be taking advantage of Guild Gifts, Part Two! Before we know it, the Machine Knitters' Guild of San Diego will be well on its way to being the best machine knitters' guild in the nation!
